Michelle is a Chicago-based Designer, Maker, and Artist with a decade of experience in the product design industry. After designing for companies such as Martha Stewart Living, TAG Ltd., and Walgreens, she launched MK Surface —which combines her love of pattern and color and her passion for making— to create surface designs that inspire, transform, and spread joy. You can see Michelle’s fresh and fun designs on home décor textiles and ceramics, paper products and stationery, craft fabrics, and more.
She is always looking at nature, architecture, light, outer space, fashion, people, objects, materials, surfaces, textures, and colors. Michelle has traveled around the world and has found inspiration in the amazing things she has seen and people she has met — and she brings all of that inspiration, passion, and knowledge to every project.
