Jason Yenter began quilting in high school in Seattle, Washington. He then went into business with his mother, Sharon Yenter, with the In The Beginning Fabric Store. The store grew quite large over the years, but in 2007 they closed it in favor of both being able to devote themselves to designing fabrics. Jason now runs the In The Beginning Fabric Company and they put out 13-14 fabric collections each year, as well as many books and patterns. He works exclusively on his computer designing, and loves the advent of digital printing with its endless color opportunities. When asked what his biggest obstacle is, he says that it is having to create so much. He doesn't want to add mediocre fabrics to what is available, so he works hard to create something special, something with a "Wow" factor.
