Beginning Quilting 101



Beginning Quilting 101: Sewing a Quilt Top

Two sessions: Sept 28th and Oct 19: 10:30-1:30; Lynn Kamola instructor

The class will offer an introduction/ review of basic quilting skills. Beginning Quilting 101 will cover techniques used to sew a quilt top. Beginning Quilting 102 will cover finishing the quilt by quilting with a walking foot and binding it. You may register for either 101 or 102 or both.

Beginning Quilting 101 will cover basic skills- measuring, using a rotary cutter, sewing an accurate 1/4” seam, pressing seams and efficient piecing. The lap or crib size quilt top completed in class features 9” blocks and introduces half-square triangles. Students may register for Beginning Quilting 102 to quilt and bind the top completed in Beginning Quilting 101.
